We are writing to you on behalf of the Housing Authority of Travis County (HATC) and its affiliate, the HATC Foundation, regarding a unique sponsorship opportunity for your organization. The HATC Foundation is organizing their Inaugural 5K event on December 9, 2018 in the city of Austin, TX. Our 5K will be held in conjunction with the 40th Annual Decker Challenge Half Marathon and is expected to attract over 1,500 participants composed of community members, city officials, and other businesses throughout Travis County and we hope it to be an enormous success.
HATC is a government housing assistance agency primarily funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Housing Authority of Travis County was established in 1975 and has been providing housing assistance and supportive services to low-income families in Travis County for nearly 43 years. In December 2017, HATC created a nonprofit subsidiary, the HATC Foundation, to further its vision to develop vibrant communities which enhance and improve lives through the delivery of optimal programming and supportive services to all HATC residents and clients.
One of our goals is to provide our residents – both parents and children – with educational opportunities to help them become self-sufficient citizens. Our 5K is the latest of these efforts, and is intended to raise funds to create scholarships to be awarded to youth in our HATC community interested in pursuing a higher education.
Four different levels of sponsorship can be considered by your organization; however, if an exclusive sponsorship plan or a different increment of financial donation is preferred, then that will be gratefully received as well. Enclosed is a more detailed description of the sponsorship levels.
Your organization/business logo will be printed on the official race t-shirt as well as all other promotional material depending on the chosen sponsorship plan. We will also provide a link to your website along with your logo on the event page of our HATC website. There are additional sponsorship benefits that may be used to drive traffic to your business after the event, such as distributing flyers or brochures along with any giveaways related to your business to participants the day of the race.

The HATC Foundation will hold its Inaugural 5K Fun Run & Walk on December 9, 2018. The HATC Foundation hopes to make this an annual event to raise money for scholarships for low-income HATC residents.
The donations will help open educational and vocational training opportunities for low-income families with your pledge, sponsoring or donation. The 5K will attract onlookers and participants from diverse backgrounds, including business owners, corporate executives, city officials, community leaders, Travis County residents and other surrounding county members. The 5K is an opportunity to increase your community profile and visibility.
Below are four suggested levels of sponsorship for your consideration. You are welcome to propose an exclusive sponsorship plan or contribute a different amount, if preferred.
